With the new basil plant we purchased from the market, we decided to make a cocktail using the fresh basil leaves. Here’s what we came up with:
- Bunch of basil
- Juice of 1/2 lemon
- 1 oz simple syrup
- 2 oz gin
- basil and lemon slice for garnish
Muddle the basil, lemon, and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker. Mix in gin and ice and shake. Strain into rocks glass with ice, and then garnish with basil and a lemon slice. Delicious!
