As the wifey and I walked down Ventura in Studio City, CA, we came across a semi-new Mexican restaurant called Maradentro. They had an interesting menu of unique cocktails, so we decided to take a seat at the bar. We ordered two delicious cocktails:
The SMP: Shishito pepper, Mango, Pisco barsol, and chile salt. Wifey loved this so much that she’s been craving this ever since. She loves shisito, she loves mango, and she loves chile salt. So merging these three ingredients was a cocktail dream for her- sweet, salty, and spicy!
I opted for the Laurel Canyon Burro (the neighborhood Moscow mule). So it included the essential ingredients: whiskey, ginger syrup, maple syrup, lime juice, and soda. I love any gingery cocktail, so this was a great drink for me on a hot summer night. I especially appreciated the candied ginger garnish!
The restaurant was pretty busy on a Friday night. Lively energy, welcoming staff, and a great atmosphere. What’s not to like? We look forward to trying their food menu, and my wife looks forward to fulfilling her SMP fix. =)
